A crawl over the whole website, a section or a list of URLs, up to 500,000 URLs per audit. 85 checks from duplicate titles to click depth, plus a site check with 29 checks on security, redirects, crawling, performance, AI crawlers and email. At the end you get a score, findings by severity and the trend against the previous run.
Accessibility against WCAG 2.2
Every crawled page is opened in Chrome and checked against WCAG 2.2, level AA by default, A or AAA if you prefer. Every page gets a score from 0 to 100, the website the average.
axe-core at desktop and mobile width.
Checks of our own for keyboard and visible focus, reflow at 320 px, 200 % zoom, text spacing, contrast of text on images, alt texts, link texts and autoplay with sound.
Keyboard, layout and simulations in depth on up to 10 pages, the home page first, then one page per template. The number can be changed.
The same error on many pages shows up once as a template issue: fixed in the template, fixed everywhere.
One result per WCAG criterion: “Passed”, “Failed”, “Needs review”, “Check by hand” or “Not applicable”.
Plus keyboard traps, obscured focus, focus order, controls a keyboard cannot reach, animations longer than 5 seconds and linked PDF and Office documents.
Best-practice hints are listed apart and do not count towards the score.
Result of an automatic check. It does not replace a full audit under BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
One crawl for both
For each run you choose SEO, accessibility or both. With both, the website is crawled once and every page fetched once. For the pages of the last run the accessibility check works without a new crawl. Beforehand “Filter pages” shows the website's paths as a tree, and local .test sites can be checked too. A run only starts when you click, there are no schedules. It keeps running in the background even when you quit WebDonkey, and an interrupted run can be resumed.
Comparison images
Findings come with images that show what is meant.
Marked screenshots with numbered spots, plus a crop of every spot.
Simulations: colour vision deficiencies, blurred vision, low contrast sensitivity and forced colours as in contrast mode.
Reflow at 320 px, 200 % zoom and wider text spacing next to the normal view.
The tab order as a numbered path. Where focus cannot be seen, the element is shown once with and once without focus.
The comparison with the previous run: the same page side by side, plus what is new and what was fixed.
Check one page right away
In the inspector you check a single address for SEO and accessibility without setting up an audit. Accessibility also works there for local .test sites from WebDonkey, so before a page goes live. Nothing is stored.
PDF report for your clients
A designed PDF in the WebDonkey style that you can pass on as it is.
SEO, accessibility or both in one document, with both scores on the cover.
Your own sender: company name, logo (PNG, JPEG or SVG up to 1 MB) and a contact line, set once in the settings under “Reports”. Logo and name appear on the cover and in the footer.
“Report for” with your client's name, remembered per audit.
The small note “Created with WebDonkey” in the footer can be switched off.
The SEO data is also available as CSV and JSON.
The report names the engine of the run, that is the versions of axe-core and Chrome.
Runs on your Mac
Checks run in your installed Chrome, Edge, Brave or Chromium. WebDonkey installs the check module with axe-core once, in fixed versions, and it runs on Node.js, which you install in WebDonkey under “Services”. Chrome itself is not downloaded. There is no cloud service in between: results and images stay on your Mac.
The SEO package is a monthly subscription and belongs to a licence with WebDonkey Premium. Accessibility and your own sender are included at no extra cost. How to assign the package to a licence is in the FAQ, the prices are under “Prices”.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get the SEO package, and how do I assign it to a licence?
SEO audits come with the SEO package, not with Free or Premium. The package is a monthly subscription and always belongs to a licence with WebDonkey Premium. If you buy it together with Premium, or you have exactly one licence it fits, we assign it automatically. Otherwise you assign it in your customer account under “My WebDonkey licences” to the licence it should belong to. Until then, your account and the app show a notice. After that your usual key unlocks SEO; you do not need a new one. You can change the assignment, at most three times in 30 days. If the Premium licence ends and the SEO package runs longer, it becomes a licence of its own with a new key: you assign it to a running Premium licence or cancel it. Until then it unlocks nothing but is still charged; nothing is refunded. After a withdrawal, full refund, chargeback or termination for good cause it ends as well. If you as a consumer withdraw from the contract for the Premium licence, you are no longer bound by the SEO package either and get back what you paid for it, even if you bought it in a different order.
What does the SEO package check for accessibility?
Every crawled page against WCAG 2.2, level AA by default, A or AAA if you prefer. The check uses axe-core at desktop and mobile width plus checks of our own for keyboard and focus, reflow at 320 px, 200 % zoom, text spacing, contrast on images, alt texts, link texts and autoplay. You start SEO, accessibility or both; with both, every page is crawled only once. Findings come with marked screenshots, simulations and the comparison with the previous run. The check is automatic and does not replace a full audit under BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
Is my website accessible or BFSG-compliant after the check?
An automatic check cannot promise that, and WebDonkey does not either. It finds many typical errors and shows where they are. Some things only a person can judge, such as whether an alt text describes the image well or whether the page can be used with a screen reader. For every WCAG criterion the report shows “Passed”, “Failed”, “Needs review”, “Check by hand” or “Not applicable” and never says “compliant”. Result of an automatic check. It does not replace a full audit under BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
Where does the check run, and can I check a page before it goes live?
On your Mac, in your installed Chrome, Edge, Brave or Chromium. For this WebDonkey installs a check module with axe-core once, in fixed versions. It runs on Node.js, which you install in WebDonkey under “Services”. Chrome itself is not downloaded, and there is no cloud service in between. In the inspector you check a single address, a local .test site from WebDonkey included, before it goes live. Full audits run against .test sites as well. Accessibility is part of the SEO package at no extra cost. Like every automatic check it does not replace a full audit under BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549.
Can I pass the PDF report on to clients with my own logo?
Yes. In the settings under “Reports” you enter your company name, logo (PNG, JPEG or SVG up to 1 MB) and a contact line once. When exporting you choose “With your own sender” and enter your client under “Report for”; WebDonkey remembers the name per audit. Logo and name then appear on the cover and in the footer, and the report keeps the WebDonkey style. You can switch off the small “Made with WebDonkey” note in the footer. A PDF holds SEO, accessibility or both; the accessibility chapter always states that it is an automatic check that does not replace a full audit under BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549. Your own sender is unlocked by the SEO package or the maintenance package.
