Fetch locally, even without Premium
- Fetch project folder and database from the server and add them as a site with a .test address. The server is only read. WebDonkey finds the public folder itself, otherwise you name it. This works for Shopware 6, WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento 2 and websites without a database on the server. The database has to be MySQL or MariaDB, and the server needs PHP 7.4 or later on the command line.
- Every copy is made safe: database access pointed at the local database, mails to Mailpit, scheduled tasks off, credentials of external services cleared. So a copy never writes to live and sends no real mails.
- With Premium the copy also runs on your Mac right away: addresses on .test, serialised data included, Redis and search service off.
- With the maintenance package personal data is replaced (pseudonymised) on the server already, before the dump leaves it: names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers and IP addresses of customers. Numbers, order contents and admin accounts stay. Unknown tables that look like personal data are emptied unless you have them checked with “Check tables”. This applies to Shopware, WordPress, WooCommerce and Magento. Without the package the copy contains real personal data, and WebDonkey points this out before it starts.
- Before fetching, WebDonkey checks ten points: connection, PHP, project folder, public folder, database login, a way to dump the database, space on the server, space on the Mac, local target and the database service on the Mac. The database access (host, port, socket, database, user and a password stored encrypted) and the dump program you set per connection and project folder, and the same access is used for staging, deploy and backups. WebDonkey picks the dump program that matches MySQL or MariaDB, or reads the database with PHP. Media are optional.
